Randal Orton was born on April 1, 1980 in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Elaine and Bob Orton Jr. His mother was a nurse while his father is a well-renowned professional wrestler. Randy is the grandson of Bob Orton and nephew of Barry Orton, both of whom were professional wrestlers. He also has a younger brother (a stand-up comedian) and a younger sister.
After graduation, Orton enlisted with the Marines but received a bad conduct discharge after going AWOL twice and disobeying an order from a commanding officer. He was tried and convicted under a special court-martial and was charged with 38 days in the brig at Camp Pendleton.
Orton married Samantha Speno in 2007 and the couple had a daughter together. However, they separated in late 2012 and divorced in 2013. In 2015, Orton married Kimberly Kessler, a previous member of his fan club, and they too have a daughter together.
